What to expect with Kids N More Dentistry

We strive to make this a pleasant experience for you. The first office visit will include x-rays, cleaning,  examination and a fluoride treatment. We will perform a risk assessment for your child in order to design a personal preventive dental health program. The program will include tips on brushing, fluoride and proper diet. We will also provide information on what should be expected based on the growth, development and oral habit influences. We will also provide counseling on oral emergencies.

YOUR DENTAL HOME

Dr. Rackham recommends building a strong bond and trust between the dentist and your child.  Starting this process as early as possible is ideal, typically at 6 months of age.  In any event, your child should see a dentist no later than 12 months of age.  Although most children do not have many teeth at 6 months, counseling and discussing what to expect and issues to look out for early and often is important.

Each year, we see many children age two and younger developing dental problems. We know that early intervention is the best and only way to insure your child starts with good oral health. Dental check -ups for your children should begin at twelve months of age and continue every six months thereafter.

When you begin your child’s dental check- ups, you are establishing a dental home. We provide guidance for your child as they grow with periodic oral health evaluations in familiar surroundings. Additionally, we gather valuable information about your child and are a resource of information for you.
